8 Tips for Flawless, ALL Day Wedding Makeup

Having flawless makeup on your wedding day is crucial. When your makeup is done properly you’ll feel beautiful and confident. Great makeup also shows in your wedding day photos. Good makeup should last for many hours, many emotions, and unpredictable weather.

On today’s post we have a guest makeup artist (MUA) who is located on Long Island, NY. Genna specializes in makeup artistry using clean beauty products with little to no chemicals.

She has been kind enough to share her 8 tips to get that flawless bridal look and to help your wedding day makeup last all day long! As an added bonus, she has shared her go-to clean beauty brands that she uses on her clients.

1. Skin Prep

Skin care before your wedding day is vital. Make sure you have a good routine to help prevent breakouts and blemishes. I would recommend developing that routine and regular facials at least 6 months before your wedding day.

2. Spray Tans

If you decide to get a spray tan before your wedding day make sure your makeup artist blends in your face with the rest of your body!

3. Eyeliner

I always recommend to my brides to always go for a subtle line when choosing their eyeliner. It is also important to chose a softer color such as brown, navy, or charcoal instead of black. Black can look too harsh on your skin when you are going for that bridal look.

4. Brows

Your brows should always be in place. If you do not want them filled in too much you should definitely go for a tinted or clear brow gel.

5. Mascara

The last thing you want is mascara running down your face. Therefore, waterproof mascara is a must! It is long-lasting and holds up even through all the happy tears.

6. Lips

Keep your lip color handy so you can reapply during the day. You can either purchase a lip color that you know you are going to use, or you can ask your makeup artist if she can give you a little sample of what she applied on you to carry with you.

7. Lasting Complexion

When wiping tears or sweat you never want to rub them off, always blot. A sponge is a great tool to remove excess oil, tears, and sweat so you do not ruin your flawlessly applied foundation.

8. A Timeless Look

It’s really important for your MUA to enhance your features so you are the best version of yourself. Your makeup should be soft, glowy, and natural so you have that flawless and timeless look. You want to look back on your wedding photos and be happy with how your makeup was done and how you look. It’s a good idea to avoid any wild trends that will look outdated in a few years.
